« Cosmofonia intends to perform a shift in the very conditions of perception. At its core lies a radical cinematic gesture: a film whose soundtrack is composed almost entirely of sounds never heard before by human ears. These are not effects or reconstructions, but transpositions of real acoustic phenomena.

They do not imitate the world. They reveal it a new. This approach reconfigures the role of the image as well. Using hunting cameras and scientific optics, tools designed to minimize human presence, we adopt a visual language that refuses anthropocentric hierarchy. The camera observes without privilege. No form of life dominates another.This redistribution of the gaze is not only aesthetic. It is ethical. The result is a cinema that listens first, a cinema beyond sight, and as such, the project operates on several registers at once. It is a scientific experiment, testing how far acoustic technologies can extend human perception. It is a political act, insisting on the recognition of other forms of intelligence and community that will hopefully shift the felt relation between human and world. » Verena Paravel
