Jean-Max Colard

Jean-Max Colard is a Paris-based art critic, curator, and specialist in contemporary French literature. He was head of the arts pages at the magazine Les Inrockuptibles from 1997 to 2017 and has written regularly for various art magazines and exhibition catalogues. Since 2016, he has been in charge of the Talk Program (Service de la parole) at the Centre Pompidou in Paris and plays a key role in the École du Centre Pompidou, developing programs that connect contemporary art, literature, and public debate. As a curator, Colard has organized and co-organized numerous exhibitions and festivals, including projects for the Prix Ricard, the contemporary art festival Le Printemps de Septembre in Toulouse, and the literary and artistic festival Extra! at the Centre Pompidou. He is also the author of several books, such as Une littérature d’après: cinéma de Tanguy Viel and L’exposition de mes rêves, which explore the intersections between literature, cinema, and exhibition-making.
